A graduate of Adelphi University and LIU - C.W. Post, Ms. Mazzeo
holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and an advanced Masters of Science
in Clinical Nutrition. Since graduation, she has maintained both a private
practice and worked in the field of cardiovascular medicine with prominent
local physicians as co-director of nutrition, counseling and educating
patients with coronary heart/artery disease, diabetes and obesity.
Presently Ms. Mazzeo has a private practice in Oceanside, New York.
Ms. Mazzeo was a nutritional consultant for the Estee Lauder Corporation in Melville, NY from 1999-2006.
Ms. Mazzeo is published in the American College of Nutrition,
October 1998, V.5, Session B, Abstract N. 43. “Reduction In Cardiovascular
Risk Factors In Obese Adult Onset Diabetics Using A High-Protein, Low-Carbohydrate
Diet And Nutritional Supplementation.” The study was conducted
at the Atkins Center in NYC.
Ms. Mazzeo appears periodically on The Heart Show that airs
on WOR 710 AM, and on WGBB 1240AM. More recently, Ms. Mazzeo has been
a repeat guest on “Tooth or Consequences”; a Cable vision show,
with host Dr. Harvey Passes.
While attending school Ms. Mazzeo worked as a diet aide
at Nassau Community Hospital in Oceanside, New York. Prior to graduate
school she was a Community Service Assistant for the Nassau County Dept.
of Health in Mineola, NY where she counseled and educated patients on
HIV testing, provided medical, family and psychological referrals and
also maintained statistics for Nassau County. Ms. Mazzeo’s experience in the business
sector includes employment for two major financial firms on Wall Street
as a Human Resource Assistant and a Registration/Compliance Assistant.
Ms. Mazzeo is totally dedicated to the field of nutrition and
her patient's health needs. She continues attending medical/nutritional
conferences, lectures and seminars. Her major interests include lipids,
brain nutrition, anti-ageing nutrition, endocrine imbalances and the
role of nutrients in the prevention and treatment of disease. She has
been very successful in assisting patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal
disorders, eating disorders/obesity, hormonal imbalances and other health
issues. Ms. Mazzeo lectures in many settings including, schools, places
of worship, and various corporate settings including the American Institute
of Physics in Melville New York.
Ms. Mazzeo is a native of Italy, hence she speaks fluent Italian
as well as conversational French and Spanish.
