Frequently Asked Questions.

Kombucha

1. Do you accept all health insurance plans?

At this time we only take Aetna Plans, however it is best to always check with your individual plan as some employers do not have nutrition coverage as part of their health coverage and therefore the visits will not be covered.

In addition, insurance coverage is no guarantee of payments as certain condition are not covered, and therefore the patient is responsible for all fees not covered by their insurance plan. If there is a deductible that has not been met, the patient is responsible for payments for any and all office visits, until the deductible has been met.

If your insurance carrier requires a referral, this must be available at time of visit. If you have questions regarding your plan, be sure to check directly with your plan.

We also accept the Empire Plan which offers a 20% discount off our regular fees on all visits [excluding nutritional supplements and tests].

Individuals covered by The Empire Plan generally includes: police officers, teachers and county workers. All other individuals pay out of pocket.

Medically supervised weight loss programs are tax deductible and a receipt is given upon request.

2.What can I expect from my first visit? During our first visit your diet, medical, family and lifestyle history will be evaluated. Strengths and weaknesses of your present diet, and lifestyle factors are assessed.

A weight and body fat analysis will be done. You are encouraged you to bring in any recent blood work for review. Additional recommendations may be made for future blood tests depending on presenting condition[s].

Bring in any medications you are taking.

Please do not guess names and dosages of medications.

You will be supplied with supporting material discussed during the session. It is understandable that it is difficult to absorb lots of new material at once. We make it easy for you to refer back the topics discussed at your convenience.

You will be provided with a temporary eating plan to get you started and suggested lifestyle modifications that you can implement until our next session.

3. If I eat a “balanced” why do I need to take nutritional supplements?

The decrease in the nutrient supply due to poor diet, soil depletion, and processed food is the main reason. In addition, there is an increased nutrient demand from stress, environmental pollution and any illness. These deficiencies deplete the endocrine system and thus cause premature ageing.

4.What diseases do you treat? We do not treat diseases. We are not medical doctors and thus do not prescribe medications. We provide you with bio-individual nutrient dense eating plans, key nutrients and lifestyle factors that encourage you body to produce healthy cells which operate at peak function. By achieving cellular health and integrity, the body has the means of healing itself.

5.What payments do you accept?

At this time we only take checks or cash.

6.What vitamin/supplement companies do you recommend? We use whole food nutrients and herbal medicines. The products we use are only sold to health professionals. We have personally visited their FDA approved facilities which have been in operation for the past 76 years. The nutrients are assayed for quality/quantity assurance.

The herbs we use are from Australia. Herbs in Australia are regulated the way drugs are regulated in this country. What this means is that the herb must have what is on the label. This is verified using a process called HPLC [high performance liquid chromatography] to assess the active constituents of the herb. To the consumer this means results each and every time they use the products. There are lots of products on the market and one needs to be aware of processing and quality of raw materials.

Using quality nutrients is the cornerstone to achieving health next to a nutrient dense diet.
