As a teenager and into her 20’s, Juliana was challenged with anorexia, a serious eating disorder that affects thousands of adolescents. The challenge was long and difficult. Through those difficult years, Juliana attempted to control her weight by becoming a vegetarian and finally a vegan [no animal products]. All these unhealthy eating practices resulted in a deterioration of Juliana’s health. Juliana’s interest in nutrition led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition.
Frustrated, and in desperation, Juliana’s search led her to the teachings of Dr. Weston A. Price through the work of the Weston A Price foundation located in Washington, D.C. After reading "Nutrition and Physical Degeneration" by Dr. Weston A. Price, Juliana was astounded at the incredible impact that nutrition has on health, despite the fact that this information was in direct opposition to the university teachings of eating a "balanced diet" by following the Food Pyramid and the guidelines of the Dietetic Association. Somehow, all she learned in school had been ignorance, lies and omissions regarding the importance of nutrition in achieving optimal health.
In comparison, when the traditional diets were abandoned, the resultswere immediately apparent in the following generation.
This was particularly noticeable in the immediate changes in poor
facial bone structure that led to crooked and overcrowded teeth.
These individuals also "fell" prey to diseases of the Western
world by consuming adulterated foods consisting of sugar, white flour,
plastic/hydrogenated fats and vegetable oils. One of the biggest
impacts of Dr. Price's book was a study performed by Dr. Fred Hale, a
colleague of Dr. Price. A group of six mother pigs were purposely deprived
of real vitamin A in their diet. The results were that 59 little pigs
born to these six female pigs, had no eyeballs. Other lesions produced
by this experiment included: defective ears, club feet, cleft palate,
hare-lip and spinal bifida. Later litters were then supplemented with
real vitamin A in their feed and their offspring were born with eyes
and free of all other previous seen defects. When the blind pigs were
mated they produced litters with normal eyeballs. Clearly these results
were caused by nutritional insults and not genetic defects. If this factor
had been of hereditary origin, this defect would have to appear according
to Mendel's law. The implication of this and other similar studies are
profound and have incredible effects on the future of the planet.
With the main staples of modern civilization consisting of refined,
processed, adulterated "counterfeit foods" such as white
bleached, bromated, fumigated flour, gasoline-residue-laden vegetable
oils, hydrogenated fats, refined sugars, synthetic vitamins added
to the non-foods, combined with environmental toxins, pesticides,
vaccines, anti-biotics, hormones, xeno-estrogens, prescription drugs,
and last but not least, the misleading and dangerous "nutritional" guidelines
from the "Health" agencies are a disaster in the making
for humankind. So why is "Nutrition a Family Affair"? The
health of future generations depends on individuals open minded enough
to challenge the nutritional status quo of the "Diet
Dictocrats." When we realize the impact of nutrition on health,
the health of future parents and our babies, we know we can no longer
sit back and watch. We must be proactive; we must get involved; we
must get accurate nutritional information out to the public without
fear of ridicule and persecution from those with vested interests
other than our health. In the last words of Dr. Weston A. Price, "..you
teach, you teach, you teach!"
Based on these extraordinary clinical and anthropological data,
Juliana radically changed her diet and started eating wholesome,
nutrient dense foods. She stopped eating fake, low fat, no fat, sugar
free, chemical-laden "foods." As her health and vitality
improved her passion for nutrition soared. She knew she could no
longer sit back and not share this knowledge with her patients or
the public. Juliana’s mission is to empower people with this
information through lectures, newsletters, private consultations,
cable vision and workshops. Juliana is one of many chapter leaders
for the Weston A. Price foundation on Long Island. The purpose of
these chapter groups is to teach, guide and counsel the public on
the ways of "traditional diets" and to be a resource for
locating wholesome foods from small local farms so that nutrient
dense foods may be restored to our plates.
